Did you know that, according to research, 90% of our communication is non-verbal?
An extremely important part of our life non-verbal communication plays a vital role in communicating our ideas or thoughts. Non-Verbal communication includes our conscious and subconscious behavior. Our gestures, posture, eye contact, hand movement and even our way of talking.
There are countless non-verbal cues that we use every day to express ourselves, and many of them are culturally specific. For example, in some cultures, direct eye contact is seen as a sign of respect, while in others, it may be interpreted as aggressive.
Similarly, different gestures can have very different meanings depending on the context in which they are used. For instance, a handshake can be a sign of greeting and respect, or it can be a power play used to assert dominance.
Being aware of our non-verbal cues and understanding those of others can help us to communicate more effectively, build stronger relationships, and avoid misunderstandings.
By paying attention to the subtle signals we send out, we can better understand ourselves and others, and navigate the complex social world around us.
